Each rocker is signed, dated and numbered. Due to the shortage of hickory saplings, the bent wood rocker has become a necessary way for some of the Amish, and at the same time become a favorite of many non-Amish people because they do not like the "twig look" associated with the oak and hickory rocker. Our craftsmen have been making these rockers for many years and now offer you this traditional bent wood rocker made in the same fashion that many Amish work–without the aid of electricity and other contemporary tools. The seat and the back of the rockers as well as the support pieces are steamed and then bent to conform to the body and offer relaxation after a hard day’s work. The finish, a varnish a little harder than polyurethane is applied by hand and will protect your chair so it will provide many years of satisfaction and enjoyment. Please remember that no finish can be totally impervious to weather. We do not recommend that the cherry be used outside. And we recommend that you keep an eye on the oak outside also because the sun can dry the moisture out of the wood and cause the finish and the wood to check or crack. If you are using your chairs on a porch, you may need to lightly sand them and apply another coat of polyurethane or marine spar varnish as needed. No padding is need on this rocker which contours to your body. |

All rockers have several coats of polyurethane, "I" & "K" are natural; "J" and "L" are stained and then several coats of polyurethane. The average overall height is 43", with seat depth of approximately 18.5", seat width of approximately 19". They are approximately 24" across at the top of the arms, and the approximate weight is 25 lbs. |

SHIPPING The average shipping cost for one rocker is anywhere between $60-90. It costs more to ship a rocker that has flat oak arms than a bent hickory arms because of the rocker being wider. It has always been our policy that our customers will pay only the actual shipping costs and an additional $14 for the Amish man to package it for shipping. If you are interested in purchasing two rockers the shipping will only be about an additional $20.00 |

"K" & "L" have bent cherry construction with a separate flat arm. They have 9 slats of bent cherry across the back. They can be bought with a natural, light, medium, or dark cherry finish. | The outside measurements of the Swivel Rocker with flat arts are 27.25"W x 24.5"D x 41"H; the Seat measures 18.75"D x 20" at widest point, and 18.5" at the front of the opening. Measurements for the ones with rounded arms are actually only 2" less in total width. The seat is the same size. | |

The Amish Peddler is proud to present the line of Amish bent
wood rockers and the line of accessory items.
Use our rocking chair on your porch while
cooling off with a glass of lemonade or in the nursery while putting the baby to sleep. Amish made in the
traditional fashion wood slats are cut according to size, steamed until flexible then bent to the desired design,
and dried. Contoured wood slats comfortably fit the natural
curvature of your back.
